Born in Japan, he came to Rio de Janeiro when he was three years old. At 18, he decided to become a chef and went on a trip to Asia, Europe and the USA to dig in further cooking knowledge. In Tokyo, he worked at Ozushi (1987-1988). In New York, he joined Shabu (1990-1991) and in Barcelona, Kiyokata (1992-1994). Back in Brazil, the chef joined Kinoshita. In 2017, he left.
